Riding into the Wind

If you live in the Midwest, then you know what it's like riding into the wind. It pretty much blows! Yes, pun intended. The other day I went out for a training ride and the winds were straight out of the south at a sustained 20 mph with gust of 30 mph. As I was riding south down 1st street at a blinding 12 mph average I got to thinking, what's tougher, climbing hills or riding into the wind? 

 

I began cycling as a hobby when I moved to California in 2012. For almost there years I rode up and down some of the steepest and longest hills I had ever seen. At first, I really struggled and at times I would have to get off and walk or rest before continuing. The more I trained the better I got at climbing. The one thing th
